AI is built by more than the people designing its models.
Every technological era creates a temptation to focus on the object in front of us. With AI, that object is the model. Yet the more meaningful unit is the system that allows it to exist and become useful.
Investment selects which possibilities will be explored. Education converts knowledge into talent. Infrastructure provides scale. Energy sustains it. Rules and institutions create the trust required for adoption.
The same logic appears inside every organization. Access to AI may arrive through a browser, but capability does not. It must be financed, learned, organized and governed.
Our progress will depend less on the visibility of each new model than on whether we are building the conditions for people and institutions to use this new capacity well.
