Write Down Your First Read
Before you open the AI analysis, write one sentence about what you think is happening and why.
Customer complaints are up. You ask AI to summarize the tickets, and it points to slow response times. That explanation is plausible. It also gives the team a ready-made agenda. Five minutes into the meeting, everyone is talking about staffing.
Before the meeting, someone on the support team had noticed something else. The complaints seemed to spike just after a billing change. Once the conversation is about response times, that observation is easy to leave out.
Try changing the order. Before anyone opens the summary, give everyone a minute to write down what they noticed and what they think might explain it. If you’re working alone, do the same. One sentence is enough, and “I don’t see a pattern yet” is a valid answer.
Then read the AI analysis and put the accounts side by side. In this case, the difference gives you something concrete to check. Did complaints rise across all tickets, or mainly among customers affected by the billing change? If both explanations hold up, the team may have two problems to solve.
You’ll change your mind plenty of times. A sentence written before you see the analysis helps you remember what you saw and check what made you change it.
